Rebate Information

To access Medicare rebates for psychological services, you will need a valid Mental Health Care Plan issued by your GP. This plan allows you to claim a rebate for up to 10 individual therapy sessions per calendar year.

Under the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS), clients are currently eligible for a rebate of approximately $98.95 per session for general psychological support. These rates are subject to updates by Medicare Australia.

How to Claim

Private Insurance

MQ Psychology aims to make the payment and rebate process as simple and transparent as possible. Where eligible, Medicare rebates can typically be processed following your appointment. Alternatively, rebates may also be claimed manually through the Medicare Express Plus app or your MyGov account. Please note that rebate eligibility and processing times are determined by Medicare, and while I can assist with submitting claims where possible, rebates are not guaranteed.

If you prefer not to use Medicare, you may be eligible to claim a rebate through your private health insurance. Please check with your provider to verify your coverage levels for psychology services prior to your first session.
